What are the main causes of IGBT module failure in industrial Inverters and how to test them?
IGBT failures are primarily caused by output short circuits on the motor cables/windings, overheating due to cooling fan failure, voltage spikes, or faulty gate driver circuits. They are tested using a multimeter in diode mode to check for shorts between the Collector and Emitter or the Gate terminals.
